At the end of April, a coding boot camp was planned again. The restrictive Corona measures made it impossible to have the participants sit together at a training location. Therefore, we choose to execute the boot camp online. This took some adaptation from both the trainers as well as the participants but was very successful. Eleven youth from the slums of Nairobi successfully participated in the course. They had been given a laptop and internet access for the duration of the course by our partner Human Needs Project.
Based on this successful format, the coming boot camps will be given in a blended form with a plenairy kick off with all participants followed by online assignments and self-study. This allows us to reach more youth and create more impact.
