Today I (Joost Dam) gave a guest lecture on the social business model of Viafrica/DEAN and how it evolved since 2003. The lecture was given for the minor international entrepreneurship development (http://www.tbm.tudelft.nl/nl/studeren/minoren-en-keuzevakken/minoren/minoren/international-entrepreneurship-development/). I took the students along three major aspects and the accompanying decisions during these years. The choice of a sustainable business model, the modelling and management of an international organisation and our positioning towards the different stakeholders.
Ending with four dilemmas on funding, corruption, safety and governance resulted in a vivid discussion on moral decisions you have to make while working in a complex environment. Some of which will be relevant for the students during their three-month assignments.
