“We are very we can start with digital education at our schools!”
In the coming year, the CLASSworks program is expanded in Tanzania. In collaboration with FT Kilimanjaro, four new schools join the program. We are busy with the preparations. Tablets have been bought and delivered, the new ElimuPi servers are ready and we welcome a new colleague in Tanzania: Mathias. Mathias will become the first contact for teachers and headmasters. Before he is ready for the job, he learns on the job during existing CLASSworks projects in Tanzania and Kenya.
The first headmaster meeting also took place. These meetings are a crucial part of the success of the CLASSworks program. We discuss the important role of the head of school in the coming transition process. He or she should encourage and stimulate teachers, show confidence but also allow mistakes, and set realistic objectives. Above all, the headmaster must be informed about the new possibilities. At regular intervals, during the year we organise these meetings during which we discuss progress, bottlenecks and impact. We stay informed and can timely support or encourage where needed.
Early next year, the training for teachers will takes place and the schools receive tablets and the ElimuPi server with educational materials.
